The risen Jesus commands every believer to go, proclaim, baptize, teach obedience, and multiply disciples among all nations.
The short answer
Jesus possesses all authority in heaven and on earth, and He commands His followers to make disciples of all nations. We do not wait until we feel impressive or fearless. We go under His authority and in His promised presence, proclaiming repentance and forgiveness in His name, baptizing believers, teaching obedience, and raising up others who will do the same.

Step by step
1. Stand under the authority of Jesus
The Great Commission begins with the risen King. Evangelism is not an uncertain human project; it is obedience to Christ. His authority is greater than opposition, fear, culture, or our weakness.

2. Go instead of waiting
Jesus sends His people outward. The first step may be crossing the room, walking into the neighbourhood, or speaking to the person already in front of you. Availability becomes obedience when we actually go.

3. Proclaim the gospel
The church is sent with news: Jesus died for sins, was buried, rose again, reigns as Lord, and calls every person to repent and believe. Good works adorn the message; they do not replace it.

4. Make disciples who multiply
Jesus commanded more than brief decisions. A disciple learns Christ, obeys His words, joins His people, and becomes a witness. Evangelism aims toward baptism, church life, maturity, and multiplication.

5. Trust His presence
Jesus promises to be with His people to the end of the age. We never go alone. Courage grows when we remember that the One who sends us accompanies us.

Common questions
Is the Great Commission for every Christian?
The whole church shares the mission Jesus gave His disciples. Roles differ, but every believer can pray, testify, proclaim Christ, serve, disciple, and help others go.
What if I do not feel called to evangelism?
The command to make disciples is already given. A particular ministry may require additional leading, but ordinary obedience does not require waiting for a special feeling.
Do good works count as evangelism?
Good works display God’s love and can open doors, but evangelism includes communicating the gospel of Jesus. Serve boldly and speak clearly.
What does making disciples include?
It includes proclaiming Christ, calling for repentance and faith, baptizing believers, teaching obedience, gathering into healthy church life, and equipping disciples to make disciples.
